This piece is of a wetland area north of us; the Great Egret is the catalyst that made the drawing come together. The original color pencil is now part of the permanent collection at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Thank you Liz. I really liked your Harris Sparrow as well, they are just returning now from the north country (your neck of the woods) and are enjoying the raspberry patches here at the farmstead (maybe eating bugs and berries).

Thank you for the comments, sorry to take so long getting back to you. This piece (the original) is in the permanent collection of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, and was a favorite of mine. I do color pencil fairly often in the winter but am usually too busy during spring, summer and fall months to stay in the studio enough. I do have some more color pencils on my blog...you may have to page back a little. It's at http://prairiepainter.blogspot.com
